Title Poem: A MYSTERY OF MOON

This bridge, suspended
between mainland and island
holds memories of the roads
that brought us here.
Makes a promise
of blue sea,
wedged between trees
in the distance ahead.
To the east,
the moon rises,
wears a halo,
casts a path
on the waterway.
Almost makes us believe
we can walk on water.
In the west,
today's sun runs
down the sky,
a watercolor dripping
paint into the salt marsh.
Between sun and moon,
the earth seems to swing
in space, suspended
by an invisible wire
for this single moment
of life we've been given.
The past, a memory of sun,
the next moment,
a mystery of moon.
